About the Ethereum Foundation
The Ethereum Foundation (EF) is a non-profit organisation dedicated to supporting Ethereum and related technologies.
Privacy & Scaling Explorations (PSE)
The MACI team operates within the Privacy & Scaling Explorations team (PSE) of the Ethereum Foundation.
At PSE, we work to bridge the gap between cutting-edge research in Zero-Knowledge Proofs and application development on Ethereum.
What does the MACI team do?
We’re a team building MACI (Minimum Anti-Collusion Infrastructure). MACI is designed to facilitate secure, anonymous voting systems while minimising the potential for collusion, manipulation and bribery. This is achieved by ensuring that votes remain private and anonymous.
We aim to empower independent organisers from various communities to run Retroactive Public Goods Funding and Quadratic Funding rounds independently.
Think of the MACI team as consultants. We offer communities technical training & operational guidance, and the communities then deploy and execute these rounds.
We support community operators via:
- Financial grants
- Technical guidance to deploy infrastructure
- Operational help on how to structure & manage round logistics
- Marketing & comms strategy to ensure your community has adequate content & education
- Impact analysis to help you set goals & measure success
The ultimate goal is for organisers to be able to run rounds independent of us. Here are a few areas we do not provide support:
- Smart contract or website deployment (though we provide guidance on how)
- Direct technical or operational support for voters
- Legal guidance on running rounds
